An Email with the Subject "St George Online Banking Update" was received in one of Scamdex's honeypot email accounts on Sat, 05 Jan 2008 12:13:18 -0800 and has been classified as a Generic Scam Email. The sender shows as St George Online Banking <support@stgeorge.com.au>.

The email address was probably spoofed. Do not reply to or contact any persons or organizations referenced in this email, or follow any URLs as you may expose yourself to scammers and, at the very least, you will be added to their email address lists for spam purposes.

During our regularly scheduled account maintenance and verification procedures, we have detected a slight error in your billing information.
This might be due to either of the following reasons:

1. A recent change in your personal information (i.e. change of address,
e-mail address).
2. An inability to accurately verify your selected option of payment due to an internal error within our processors.

We are requesting this information to verify and protect your identity. This is in order
to prevent the use of the Australian banking system in illegal activity.
