An Email with the Subject "Wellsfargo Online Banking Alert" was received in one of Scamdex's honeypot email accounts on Mon, 17 Sep 2012 03:40:02 -0700 and has been classified as a Generic Scam Email. The sender shows as "Wellsfargo Alert" <info@wellsfargoemail.2itb.com>.
The email address was probably spoofed. Do not reply to or contact any persons or organizations referenced in this email, or follow any URLs as you may expose yourself to scammers and, at the very least, you will be added to their email address lists for spam purposes.
Dear Valued Customer, This is an important message from Wellsfargo Online Banking Security Centre and this message has been issued due to a recent upgrade of our services. All our current customers are required to update their Online Banking details by simply completing our quick online customers update form. It has come to our attention that your Bank account information needs to be updated as part of our continuing commitment to protect your account in this year 2012 and to reduce the instance of fraud on banking websites. Due to concerns, for the safety and integrity of the Internet Banking community we have issued this warning message. If you could please take 2-3 minutes out of your online experience and renew your records you will not run into any future problems with the online service. Once you have updated your account records your online banking account will not be interrupted and will continue as normal. To update your Bank records please download the attached document in this email, you are required to download and fill the form. After this one time process your account is updated!
