Search Scamdex & Scamalot
An Email with the Subject "MERCHANT ACCOUNT UPDATE" was received in one of Scamdex's honeypot email accounts on Wed, 08 Dec 2010 13:07:53 -0800 and has been classified as a Generic Scam Email. The sender shows as "PAYMENTECH" <secure@paymentech.com>.
The email address was probably spoofed. Do not reply to or contact any persons or organizations referenced in this email, or follow any URLs as you may expose yourself to scammers and, at the very least, you will be added to their email address lists for spam purposes.
Dear Merchant, It has come to our attention that your online account access information needs to be updated. This is a regular measure to prevent fraudulent transactions via your merchant account. We therefore require few minutes of your time to update your online access information. Doing this will forestall future problems when using online services Please check the attachment in order to update your account information.
