An Email with the Subject "Business Proposal.." was received in one of Scamdex's honeypot email accounts on Sat, 10 May 2008 06:34:21 -0700 and has been classified as a Generic Scam Email. The sender shows as "karim_boro1" <karim_boro1@libero.it>.
The email address was probably spoofed. Do not reply to or contact any persons or organizations referenced in this email, or follow any URLs as you may expose yourself to scammers and, at the very least, you will be added to their email address lists for spam purposes.
Dear Sir, I know you may be surprise to read from me since we have not met before, but as a matter of fact, I have a lucrative business at hand which I feel may attract your interest. I work with the Burkina Faso Electrical company known as Société National D’ Electricité Du Faso (SONABEL) as a director under the contract award committee. Over the past years, contract worth millions of US dollars where awarded to a foreign company for the installation of electricity in some part Kadiogo areas. The contractor has completed his contract and part payment have being made to the contractor remaining the balance worth millions of dollars which is supposed to be paid before he died in a fatal car accident on his way to Bobo Doiulaso from Ouagadougou the capital city of the country along side with his entire family. After his death, SONABEL now gave me the authority as the head of the contract award committee to confiscate the fund if none of his business associate comes for the fund. As faith will have it, our office was attacked by a group of protesters who were angry over the 50% increment on house hold items and food stuffs. During this riot, they set up our main office on ablaze all the important files and documents destroyed by fire including all the hard disk that contains contract information’s. As a result of this, I saw it as an opportunity for you to come in as a business partner of the deceased contractor with some tangible proofs which I shall make available to enable us claim the remaining contract payment if only you will adhere to my rules and advice since I am part of the scene.
