“Data Conversion Job Scam”?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yes – this has been running for several months now. This is how it works:<\/p>\n

A spam email, probably coming via a job seekers website [such as Careerbuilder.com or Dice.com or Monster.com or Craigslist.com] tells the victim about a great employment opportunity he can do at home – all he has to do is transcribe some written text into a software program and send it off.<\/p>\n

Scam Job Website Garindata from Scamdex<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The employer website domain name changes but they almost always use the term ‘E-Books Conversion and Data Technology’<\/strong> and is similar to the image here.
\nThe applicant (Garindata Scam Job Application Form<\/a>) ALWAYS gets the job and, after agreeing to the benefits etc, is directed to go to the website of a software company that has a product that he will need to perform his function. He will, of course, be fully reimbursed with his first paycheck!
\nThe Software company is unique in Internet terms, of being unable to accept any form of credit card, PayPal, MoneyBookers or any other Internet payment method. No – all they accept is WESTERN UNION (which basically means untraceable, uncancellable, unverifiable cash payments). The cost for this ‘software’ is around 57 Euros.<\/p>\n

This is the whole scam<\/strong>

\nThere is no work. There is no software. Don’t expect to ever hear from them again – they have your money. YOU HAVE BEEN SCAMMED!!<\/p>\n

This scam has been running for months. Scamdex has had many many messages from people who send their cash to Romania, never to see it again. Every week or so, the domain names (of the ’employer’ and the ‘software company’) change so that search engines do not easily find sites like scamdex.com who try too warn people.<\/p>\n

Scamdex has been compiling lists of domain names used, but domain names are cheap and it’s soooooooo easy to create one with virtually no tracking.<\/p>\n

Here’s a sample tip off report:<\/p>\n

I was offered a part time job for six months, 2 hours daily, 5 days a week.
\nwhen they sent me the tutorial it is required to download a software lorexsoft.com by paying 57 euro via western union. i was transferred 57 for lorexsoft.com and today ( 20\/9\/2012 ) is suppose to be first day of work and i got no replay from them and now i know that it was a scam by the hard way and I saw the similar stories below also. so please don’t get cheated like i did .<\/p>\n

they can change the name of the scam company ( Daxcom Data Technology Inc ) but the company that they will ask you to buy the software from it is the same so don’t ever buy anything from ( lorexsoft.com ) its totally scam .<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nDAXCOMDATA.COM, cadeldata.com, clusondata.com, corwindata.com, comarkdata.com, costondata.com, darendata.com, dacedata.com, dacordata.com, damcodata.com, coviandata.com, grecondata.com, gteldata.com. To find more, just do a Google search for ‘E-Books Conversion and Data Technology’<\/p>\n

Domain names for the ‘Software Company’, which always seems to start with ‘L’ are:

As far as I can tell, they are Romainians – working with their money-laundering accomplices, Western Union. The names used are<\/p>\n
