Specifically Child sexual abuse content hosted worldwide and criminally obscene and incitement to racial hatred content hosted in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s remit is to protect the citizens of the UK from illegal and offensive online content by allowing the public and IT professionals to report sites with potentially illegal online content. They work in partnership with the ISPs, law enforcement, government, the education sector, charities, international partners and the public to minimize the availability of this content.<\/p>\n<p>They seek to find and report on child sexual abuse content hosted anywhere in the world and criminally obscene and incitement to racial hatred content\u00c2\u00a0hosted in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>They use a \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcnotice and take-down\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 service which alerts ISPs to potentially illegal content on their servers and provide information to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iwf.org.uk\/police\/page.21.htm\">law enforcement partners<\/a> in the UK and abroad.<\/p>\n<p>As a direct result, less than 1%\u00c2\u00a0of child sexual abuse content, known to the IWF,\u00c2\u00a0has apparently been hosted in the UK since 2003, down from\u00c2\u00a018% in 1997.<\/p>\n<p>As sexually abusive images of children are primarily hosted abroad, they provide a dynamic list of child sexual abuse URLs.<\/p>\n<p>The IWF want web citizens, in the UK and abroad to report all and any content to them <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iwf.org.uk\/reporting.htm\">http:\/\/www.iwf.org.uk\/reporting.htm <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Scamdex is of the opinion that only community-led notification can help protect our children from being exposed to this obscenity and hopefully prevent children being exploited to feed this industry.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 209px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iwf.org.uk\/reporting.htm\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.iwf.org.uk\/images\/site\/homepage\/report.gif\" alt=\"Report illegal Content\" width=\"209\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Report illegal Content<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) is a UK-based Hotline for reporting illegal content.
